The best starting place to research postal statistics by
country and to find out about new regulations & standards as set by the Global Body -
The UPU (Universal Postal Union). The UPU is a United Nations organisation based in
Berne Switzerland, and has 189 Country members.
The statistics database covers several years of information
from letter volumes, meters in operation, number of postal offices, financial results etc.

the telecommunications marketplace, check out the UPU equivalent global standards body,
ITU (International telecommunications Union).
As telecommunication organisations are a major producer of
mail and bills, this is a good site to start researching what is going on. There are links

opportunity bells for those of you who sell paperhandling systems/solutions. This is
an association of billing software users and suppliers in the mobile and fixed
telecommunications.

communications. GSM is the standard which is used by 160 million users - in 133 countries
